Julie Nolta

Hi, I'm Julie, Chief Executive Empress

of my little apple green design studio.

Welcome to my blog!

When I'm not out visiting a client or searching for just the right  product for a project, I can probably be found in my happy little studio (painted the perfect shade of green), busy drawing up new ideas for a cool kitchen or a "spa-licious" bathroom. I like to share the fun stuff I find along the way!

RANDOM NOTES FROM MY LITTLE

And the 2017 Color of the Year is…

Every year, Pantone, the global authority on color, forecasts the next color that’s going to be a big influence in the design world. This color is going to show up in home decor, fashion, beauty, advertising, etc.

For 2017, get ready for… Greenery. Ta Da!

Does it look familiar in any way? I believe they took one look at my logo and decided they better get on the bandwagon! :-D

Pantone says, “Greenery is symbolic of new beginnings. Greenery is a fresh and zesty yellow-green shade that evokes the first days of spring when nature’s greens revive, restore and renew.”

Well, sign me up for "fresh and zesty." This cheery color is clear with no brown or gray undertones, and looks great as an accent with other strong, deep colors like black and navy. Natural tones too.

And it’s very refreshing and energizing against white.

If you’re a Pinterest fanatic like I am, check out Pantone’s Greenery boards for their interpretation, or do a quick Pinterest search on Pantone Greenery and you’ll find tons of ways this color has already hit the scene in everything from wedding decor, handbags, Kitchen Aide mixers, and ... this guy!

To try some of this color for yourself this spring and summer, start with accent pieces like throw pillows, lamps or dishes in your home. Or buy a bright green handbag or even some nail polish. Yep, they got that too.

So here's to evoking some springtime as we're hunkered down getting ready for an ice storm in January. :-D
